Hello, my name is Dolores Lopez, and I am the oldest daughter of Rosalinda Torres. I also was responsible for taking my mother to most of her doctor’s appointments and procedures. I love my mother dearly and she was my best friend. Going through the time of life for my mother has forever changed our lives as a family. With all the ups and downs we experienced so many different emotions. My mother and I had many conversations about how she felt. She felt very frustrated and scared with no control over anything that was happening to her. I remember one conversation that we had in which she mentioned that she did not want to be alone through all her tough times. This is when I realized that if there was anything that we could help control. That one thing was to make sure that she was never alone.

Therefore, Valor is important to me. Not everyone has someone or has a support system—some who can be there for them. To help with things, little things that can make a huge difference. I want to make sure that whoever goes through this knows that there are people out there that truly do care and will be there for them. “You are not alone.”
